Moorhens - Primary Apprentices
You may have heard about the Apprentice on BBC1. Well, at Moorhens we are going to have the “Primary Apprentices”, where we will have teams of children trying to be “Apprentices”, rather than one single Apprentice.
It will be over a 2 week period (Mon 13th – Fri 24th June). Teams will be of mixed ages, so as to give everyone a chance to participate. If you wish to join a team you have to attend at least 4 afternoons at Moorhens within those 2 weeks in June, to make it workable. We will have at least 2 teams, depending on how many children wish to take part.
Each team will have to come up with the idea of a new chocolate bar or sweet. They will have to design a wrapper, give it a name, a price and tell us what shop you can buy it from.
Each team will have a video recorder. They will have to make an advertisement about their new chocolate bar or sweet. They can act, sing dance, and dress up or whatever they wish to do to advertise their product.
After each advertisement has finished, it will be edited if need be and then shown to the whole school for them to vote which advertisement is their favourite.
All participants will receive certificates and the team which wins will receive a small prize.
If you wish be a Primary Apprentice and join one of the teams, book now for Moorhens between these dates. You have approximately three weeks to get your ideas together.
Good Luck!

Bird Club Sale Goes Down Well
A new item has been added to the events page on the school website.
Yesterday, the Bird Club raised funds for wildlife as part of their Bronze level 'R.S.P.B. Wildlife Action Award'.
The children made Lapwing straws, Blue Tit finger puppets, window hides, masks and bookmarks and raised £40.54.
£40 of this is going to the new R.S.P.B. Middleton Bird Reserve, and the remaining 54p will go towards bird feed for our various feeders around the school!
Mrs Glare was very pleased with the childrens hard work, enthusiasm and commitment.
You can see some photos of the event by clicking here.
Extended School Clubs Update
The information on all the clubs available for next term has just been uploaded to the Extended School Clubs page on the website. You can take a look here.

Moor Hall Fox Watch Begins Again!
This year the foxes are back again! With more cubs than last year (we counted at least four), they were out today enjoying the morning sun.
Luckily we managed to capture a couple of minutes of them - in this video you can see the cubs playing while the mother rests. Watch out for one cub leaping on top of it's poor mum!
