New Resources for Parents

We've just added some files to the Correspondence section on our website.

These are some documents designed to help parents with managing the safety of their children when accessing online resources from home.

Included are a Digital Safety Pack from Smoothwall, A Home Safe Pack from Safer Schools, and a guide on the app House Party from National Online Safety.

National Online Safety: Fortnite Song

With the holiday approaching, and as part of their #WakeUpWednesday campaign, National Online Safety has teamed up with MusicAlternative to launch a Fortnite online safety song.

The song encourages parents and carers to "stay switched on" to online dangers when their children are playing Fortnite.

Hector's World - Internet Safety

This week ICT Club have been learning about Internet Safety.

They have enjoyed spending some time exploring "Hector's World", a cybersafety initiative designed to help young people learn about safe online practices and digital citizenship. Why not click on the Hector's World logo opposite to visit and take a look for yourself?

We also discussed Hector's World Safety Button, which helps to protect you when you're on the computer:

"After you have installed the Button, a Hector's World character will swim in the top right-hand corner of your computer screen.
If you see something that makes you feel confused or scared when you are using the computer, you can click on Hector (or one of his friends) to cover the screen while you get some help."

Hector's World Safety Button can be downloaded from this website, or by clicking on Hector below.
