After a fantastic summer of watching the Olympics and now with the Paralympics on, I was wondering whether it has inspired you to take up any new sports? It has certainly got me moving more!
I would really like to collect pictures of pupils with awards you have won, sports you do in and out of school, as part of a school display board to show people how much we enjoy sports at Moor Hall School. They can be football pictures, pictures of medals or trophies you have won, any sports you do-take a picture and bring it into school.

Moorhens Olympic Art Competition
Moorhens held an Olympic Art Competition during the summer term. We had 13 entries from both infants and juniors. The standards this term were really high and Miss Jones who was choosing the winners found it very hard to pick just one from each catagory. All who entered received a certificate and a chocolate medal. Well done to everyone who entered and congratulations to the two lucky winners.Infant Winner: Tamsin Russell yr 1
Junior Winner: Elizabeth Jones yr 3

Colours of the World
For the last couple of days we at Moor Hall School have had the privilege to borrow an Olympic torch. Some of the children (as well as staff) paid £1 to have their photograph taken with it. The money made is being given to St. Giles Hospice. Yesterday - despite the rain, all the children carried a flag representing many of the countries taking part in the Olympics.Mrs. Clewer was honorary Torch bearer. We walked all around the Junior playground and ended in the Infant playground where we were joined by the children from Ducklings Nursery. They had made their own Olympic torches which they held up proudly. We sang the National Anthem. The sun actually shone as we sang!

Olympic Torch Relay at Moor Hall Primary
With the Olympics right around the corner, ten year 6 children got together to run their own mini-relay with a real Olympic torch.
They started out at Moor Hall School, and persevered through the rain to get to Coppice Primary, where they passed the 'flame' on to the next torch. The rain certainly didn't dampen their spirits!
Some new photos have been added to the events page of our website for this - click here to see them.

Year 4 Win!
London Olympics 2012 Poster Competition.
Class 4 with Mrs Glare entered the Olympics Poster Competition. We were one of just 20 winners from schools around the whole country!
Our design, along with the other 19 winners, has been made into one of the official posters for the olympics.
