Virtual Open Day Video

At this time of year we would normally be offering open days for prospective parents to come and have a look around our school. In light of current restrictions, we are unable to offer these events this year. Instead we have produced a virtual open day video - we hope that this gives a good feel for our school!

For a chance to meet our Senior Leadership Team, we have two online Teams sessions available as part of our Virtual Open Day offerings. Please click here to book yourself into a session. Please note that to allow us time to organise this, this form closes on Monday 30th November at 12pm (noon).

Class 2 Verb Game

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are well and are having a good start to your day. Did you know that BBC Bitesize have now got daily lessons for lots of age groups? There are different subjects and lots of videos and activities that you might find interesting.
You can find them here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-lessons/1

There's a great page with games which might help you with the Literacy work that I set for you today. It's all about verbs... https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zrqqtfr/articles/zpxhdxs

Have fun!

Magazines and pictures needed please Year 4

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow Year 4 will be writing poetry on the theme of ‘A view from the window’.

To help us gain inspiration, the children will be creating a mood board. For this we will need plenty of pictures from magazines, travel brochures and other colourful pictorial publications.

Please could you send them in with the children tomorrow?

Thank you for your help.

13th September is Roald Dahl Day

Remember that 13th September is Roald Dahl Day. There are plenty of easy and cheap home made costume ideas available on the Internet.

For example -

The big question is...... will Mr Winter wear his usual BFG ears? We will wait and see!

Reading Challenge Winners

At the end of the reading challenge there is a prize draw. Well done to our winners. A huge thank you to our PA for purchasing all of the books and Mrs Menmuir for organising the challenge.

Reading Challenge Assembly

WOW! We are bowled over by the number of children who have risen to the 'Reading Challenge'! During the challenge period, one of our Y6 children read 51 books (and they weren't short ones either!)

A huge well done to everyone.

Tonight at parents evening lots of you were asking for books suitable to read with the children over the summer holiday.
There are lots of great books  on the list which you could share.
It's not an exhaustive list, just a few suggestions .

Book Club

There was a fantastic turnout for the first Moor Hall book club today.

Mire than 25 children from  Key Stage Two came  together to talk about Billionaire Boy written by David Walliams.

Almost everyone enjoyed the book very much. We all laughed about the list of silly names,
Barbra Blacksheep was a particular favourite !

Everyone is invited to read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the next book club which will be held on Friday 9th .June.
