Virtual Open Day Video

At this time of year we would normally be offering open days for prospective parents to come and have a look around our school. In light of current restrictions, we are unable to offer these events this year. Instead we have produced a virtual open day video - we hope that this gives a good feel for our school!

For a chance to meet our Senior Leadership Team, we have two online Teams sessions available as part of our Virtual Open Day offerings. Please click here to book yourself into a session. Please note that to allow us time to organise this, this form closes on Monday 30th November at 12pm (noon).

Sweet Music

Moorhen children have the use of the schools musical instruments and today was one of those beautiful days where children could just chill out in the sunshine on the field and play a little sweet music.

Musical Instrument Craft

Summer term 2: Children at Moorhens made lots of mess and had loads of fun making their own musical instruments out of recyclable materials. They made everything from drums to guitars. Bottles were filled with pasta to either make the sound of the rain or the more popular instrument, the maraca.

Didgeridoo Art at Moorhens

Summer term 2:
This term the theme is music. The children turned a very plain cardboard tube into a beautiful didgeridoo. With all artwork designed by the children themselves. They dipped cotton bud tips into paint to apply their designs.

Music Award

We received this certificate today in recognition for the commitment we have to music education at Moor Hall.

At Moor Hall we have a high proportion of our children learning violin, 'cello, bass, keyboards, guitar, flute and clarinet. Some children start lessons in Reception class. We follow the Charanga Music scheme across our school and have a very enthusiastic school choir.

Merry Christmas from all at Moor Hall

What better way to wish you all a very Merry Christmas than with a song from more of our talented pupils

A Starry Night

We are exceptionally proud of all our pupils at Moor Hall.  In particular this outstanding solo performance was just too good not to share.

Moor Hall School's Road Safety Video

Road Safety Week was at the end of November, and while focusing on this important issue, pupils in Year 5 learned Moor Hall's Road Safety song to teach us some important DOs and DON'Ts for staying safe around roads and cars. The rest of the school then enjoyed learning the song in assembly too!

With all the weather disruptions of last week, we've been a bit delayed getting this up, but you can now watch our Road Safety video - why not have a look below!

Moor Hall's Christmas Concert last night

Last night we had a really significant number of children performing - they sang and played their instruments with confidence and skill. Music is growing at Moor Hall - for example, we have 27 guitarists, 24 'cellists and a very enthusiastic and able choir. This is in addition to our groups of woodwind, keyboard and string players. Well done everyone - we are all very proud of you.

Christmas Concert tomorrow evening.

We are planning for our annual Christmas Concert at St James to go ahead as planned tomorrow evening. Although we may not be as well practiced as we would like to have been it will be a special evening. It is an important community event in our school calendar.
