Moor Hall Carnival of Lions

Moor Hall Primary School are extremely excited to present a dance performed by the whole school - The Carnival of the Lion’s. As a school, we have taken inspiration from the Carnival of the Animals concert, of which we were fortunate to watch being performed live (virtually) by the CBSO, and have used this dance project as an exciting opener to many more ‘animal’ based projects that we have in store. All children from EYFS to Year 6 fully engaged, enjoyed and achieved during this project and we are so proud to show you our final performance. Enjoy. #themoorhallchild

EYFS and School Entrance Improvements

In recent weeks we have been looking at how we can make improvements to the entrance to our school and the area immediately outside of Early Years. We have also been considering how we can make improvements to the security of our site.

The designs that we have now drawn up and have submitted for planning will enable us to make the following improvements -

Early Years
  • Increased learning space for Reception children, both internally and externally.
  • Modern accessible toilet facilities for Reception children.
  • Access to a larger outdoor learning space for Reception children.
  • A more flexible teaching area in order to enhance curriculum delivery and efficiently use resources.
Access to School
  • A wider path access avoiding muddy areas.
  • More secure access to the site directly to the office.
  • Unobtrusive but secure fencing.
Internal improvements
  •  Improved office facilities
  • Additional staff facilities
We will be giving an opportunity for parents and residents to see the plans at school in the next weeks. A letter will go out once the date has been confirmed.

This is a very exciting potential development for Moor Hall. Our priority will always be the safety and well being of the children.  We would like to improve our EYFS provision further and the plans would help us greatly in achieving this aim.

You can view the documents on our website-

This is a school led project and so any queries should be made directly to the school.

Father's Day Assembly

The school hall was full of proud fathers this morning enjoying listening to their children in KS1. Personally I thought the assembly was very touching - I had never seen so many of our dads at school and the comments that the children made were heartfelt. It was a delight to listen to what the children had to say - I know the assembly meant a lot to everyone concerned. Thank you KS1 for such a lovely assembly. Mr Steggall.

Ladybirds love being active!

As part of our physical development we have been having lots of fun on the climbing frame in the hall and the trim trail in the KS2 playground. We have been experimenting with different ways of moving around, under, over and through the climbing equipment.

Ladybird's visit to Polesworth Abbey

We all had a lovely day visiting Polesworth Abbey, on Ladybird's first school trip! When we arrived we were greeted by the extremely tired Innkeeper who told us he had been up all night because a King had been born. We followed the star to Bethlehem to find the stable where Jesus had been born. We paid our money to the tax collector and signed the census. Finally, we performed the Nativity in the beautiful surroundings of the Abbey itself.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the parents, and grandparents, who helped on our school trip! We would also like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!

Our week in Ladybirds...

Ladybirds have had another very busy week! This week we have been investigating pattern. We have been creating repeated patterns around our classroom.

We used chalk to create tracks for our friends on their bikes and scooters!

We have been colour mixing using chalk and water.

We even had time for a game of hedgehogs in the autumn leaves!
