Climate Award Assembly

Well done to twenty children from Year 3 & 4 who passed their RSPB Climate Action Award. These children have completed activities at the 'Climate Club' at school and also at home to show they care about our planet.

The children were presented with certificates, stickers and badges at an assembly this week.

Year 4 trip to Tyseley Recycling Centre

Today Year 4 went to the Recycling Centre at Tyseley in Birmingham. We had a great time!!! One of the children said, "I didn't know rubbish could be so interesting!" I have put a couple of photos on the blog to show you a bit about our morning. Hard hats on and we are ready to go!! This centre recycles so many things and uses the energy it creates to provide heat for 40000 homes! The Tyseley Site deals with the 350 million tonnes of rubbish that the people of Birmingham produce every year! I bet that's the first time you have seen plasterboard on a blog!!! It will be recycled to make.......bedding for cows to lie on. Over the next few weeks the pupils in class 4 will be thinking more about their environment and how we asa a school can recycle more.
