There are still places left for the Autumn term clubs.

Mondays - Football  - for the current reception class to the current year 2 class (places still available).

Tuesdays - Street Dance - for the current year 2 class to the current year 5 class (places still available).

Wednesdays - Tennis (FULL)

Thursday - Netball - for the current year 2 class to the current year 5 class (places still available)

Friday - Tag Rugby - for the current year 2 class to the current year 5 (places still available)

Summer term 2 clubs

Hurry, you only have a few days left to book for the summer term 2 clubs. We have athletics, tennis (now full), rounders and cricket  which we cover every summer term, plus next term KSA are providing an alternative sports club, which will cover a different club each week for KS2 children.

The Kick Start Academy have wheelchairs which the children used at the time of the Paralympics to race against each other. Due to the children having so much fun last time, it is being brought back again as one of the weekly clubs on offer. Lacrosse will be another. This is a fast paced fun team game. Plus there will be another 4 weeks of fun clubs. If the children do not like a club one week, the next week will be something different.

Parents reminder: The advance booking window will be closing at 6:00 pm on Wednesday 13th February. Spring term 2 bookings at the advanced price of £5.00, need to be made before that date. After the window closes, all sessions will be at the ad hoc price of £6.00.

Clubs update

September-October Clubs

We are reintroducing clubs which we haven't covered for a while for the September-October term of which there are still places available below:

Cricket & Kick Rounders, Tag-Rugby and Football still have places available, whilst Archery and Tennis are now full

Wildlife Club Full

The Wildlife club which Mrs Glare runs has proven again to be very popular. The Wildlife club for the June-July term is now full.
Parents rushed into Moorhens yesterday afternoon and this morning to try and secure places for their children within the Wildlife club and within 1 hour it was full. We apologise to anyone who has tried to secure a place for this club, but we only have a limited number of spaces available for a very popular club.

Places are still available within the other clubs that we will be providing for Summer term 2, such as Athletics, Netball, Tennis and Cricket/ Rounders.

Feb-March Extended School Club-Places still available

Monday:
Multi-Sports KS2 (5 weeks)
Over the 5 week period we will be covering  a variety of sports, such as Badminton, Volleyball, Body Combat, Cricket and Polo; exploring co-ordination, ball and body control and teamwork.
 Places still available.

Tuesday:
Wildlife Club KS2 (5 weeks)
This club is now full.

Wednesday:
Netball Yrs 4-6 (5 weeks)
 Children will learn the basic skills of throwing and catching, footwork and jumping. Children will have the chance to participate in small games.This club is available for both boys and girls of all abilities.

Thursday:
Arts & Crafts Yrs 2-6 (4 weeks)
Children have a range of activities & materials to choose from. Each week a different topic will be given, which will let their artistic skills run riot.

Friday:
Football Yrs 2-4 (4 weeks)
This club is available for both boys and girls of all abilities.Children will learn all the skills of football and apply these skills to small team games.

Climate Award Assembly

Well done to twenty children from Year 3 & 4 who passed their RSPB Climate Action Award. These children have completed activities at the 'Climate Club' at school and also at home to show they care about our planet.

The children were presented with certificates, stickers and badges at an assembly this week.

14th July Extended School Clubs

Both the Tennis and Arts & Crafts club have been cancelled for 14th July due to  parents evening. Children who normally come to Moorhens will be added to the diary. Children who do not normally attend Moorhens will be credited for that session, which can be used for any future extended school club.

RSPB Wildlife Action Gold Award

Twelve children have recently been presented with their badges, certificates and stickers for passing the RSPB Wildlife Action Gold Awards. Mr. Fisher from the RSPB attended the assembly to help with the presentation.

Over many months children from the 'Bird Club' have been completing activities to help wildlife and the environment. To gain the Gold Award the children had to complete eighteen tasks, which is a huge achievement.

Thank you children for your hard work and commitment. Well done.
