Class 5 Mock Election

Due to the 2015 General Election, children in class 5 spent some time discussing and furthering their knowledge of politics. We discussed what voting is and how it works and then we spoke about the different political parties. Children were then given some time to research the different parties to gain an understanding of which party they would be most inclined to vote for. In the classroom we then set up a polling station, children were issued with their own poll card and Mrs Russell and Mrs Parsons acted as Poll Clerks. Children put their votes into a ballot box. Hopefully this activity has helped us to gain a better understanding of the process and the importance of an election.

School Blog Updates

Today, a few new things have been added to the blog.

The first one you'll probably have noticed immediately - a new poll element has been added to the side bar on the right. This will be updated with new questions regularly - sometimes these will be serious (and we appreciate the feedback), but sometimes they'll just be for fun. So come back regularly and have your say!

Secondly, I have included the ability to search the blog  - and the school website too! Can't find the information you want using the labels or the archive? No problem - just search for it! This feature won't interrupt your reading in any way as it has been deliberately placed out of the way for when you need it - right at the bottom of the page! Why not give it a go?

Don't forget, if you're unsure of how to do anything on the blog - you can always take a look at our How to Use the School Blog page on our website!
