Year 2 Sing About Their Community

Year 2 have been learning about their community this term, and to tie in with this, Mr Watts helped them to create their own song all about the things they see and places they know.

Why not watch the video below to learn what Year 2 know about their community?

Extended School Club Situation

There are only two more days left until the end of term to send in your club booking forms. At present, there are only 3 clubs definitely going ahead , (Bird Club, Netball & ICT). If we cannot get the numbers of children we need for other clubs, they may have to be cancelled.

Year 3 - Living In Sutton

Year 3 have recently been studying Sutton Coldfield and the area that they live in. As part of this topic, Mr Watts helped the class write their own song about living in Sutton.

In class, Year 3 brainstormed ideas of the features and places to visit in Sutton, and then with the help of Mr Watts put them together into a song, titled "I Live in Sutton".

After a few practices, the class knew the song off by heart - we decided it would be nice to record it for everyone to enjoy!

Year 2 Go "Over the Rainbow"

Recently, Mr Watts has been working with several classes to create their own songs.

Inbetween writing their own songs, Year 2 have really enjoyed singing a few existing ones - one of their favourites being "Over the Rainbow".

Watch the video below to see the Moor Hall version!

Year 4 Keyboard Concert

Year 4 parents don't forget...
The children in Year 4 will be performing and showing off their keyboard skills this Thursday afternoon at 1.45.

Air Ambulance Mufti Day this Friday

There will be a mufti day on Friday 15th July to support the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Over the course of the school year children, parents and friends of the school have already managed to raise more than £1500. It would be fantastic to have one final push to see how close we can get to our £2000 target.

Many of you will know that recently donated money was stolen from the Air Ambulance headquarters in an armed raid. The raid occurred on the day our donations had been deposited. Fortunately the thieves did not take the Moor Hall donations but a great deal of other money was taken and the staff were very shaken by the experience.

May I remind you that the Air Ambulance charity is completely reliant on public donations. It cost £25 for every minute the helicopter is in the air- so every penny really does count.

I would ask that everyone in school brings in £1 to wear mufti clothes. There will also be a collection of loose change from each class so we can try to fill the huge coke bottle.

Thank you for your support.

Ladybirds class get to grips with ICT!

Ladybirds have been getting to grips with some ICT kit recently, by using Tuff-Cams to film each other and Easi-Speak microphones to record some interviews.

Every child in reception got to film something, and below is a great video montage of the footage they took, along with the audio interviews. I think everyone will agree that they did a great job using the equipment!

A big well done to all Ladybirds children for doing a brilliant job with these films, and also thanks to Mrs Gore for editing together the clips for us to watch and enjoy!

Apologies

A mistake has been made in the dates for the Extended School clubs. The school term from September to October is 7 weeks, but the Extended school clubs are for 6 weeks only.

Monday clubs - 5th Sept - 10th Oct

Tuesday clubs - 6th Sept - 11th Oct

Wednesday clubs - 7th Sept - 12th Oct

Thursday clubs - 8th Sept - 13th Oct

All clubs will be finished by 13th October.

If you wish to have a new booking form with the correct dates, you can either download one from the web-site [as of Monday 11th July] or pick one up from Moorhens or the office.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
