RSPB Wildlife Action Gold Award
Twelve children have recently been presented with their badges, certificates and stickers for passing the RSPB Wildlife Action Gold Awards. Mr. Fisher from the RSPB attended the assembly to help with the presentation.
Over many months children from the 'Bird Club' have been completing activities to help wildlife and the environment. To gain the Gold Award the children had to complete eighteen tasks, which is a huge achievement.
Thank you children for your hard work and commitment. Well done.

Class 3 Poetry Week
Today Class 3 will be watching lots of performance poetry and deciding
what makes a good performance. The children will then write their own
Success Criteria so they can evaluate their own performances later in
the week!!
We watched Michael Rosen perform Chocolate Cake.
Lily thought his facial expressions were strange but very funny.
Arjuna noticed that he changed the volume of his voice.
Sarah enjoyed the way he used his hands and arms to keep you watching.
Oliver liked the way he made us laugh.
Lydia noticed that he spoke very clearly all the time.
Grace said she enjoyed the story he told.
Thomas noticed that he had learned all the words.
Ehsan said that means he knows them ‘off by heart’
Sophie said he did not stumble over the words or say ummmm.
Layla enjoyed the way Michael Rosen sometimes paused but he didn’t stop for a very long time.

Meeting Peter Holden MBE
All the children from the 'Bird Club' were invited to meet Peter Holden MBE, a national ornithologist who has worked for the RSPB for 47 years. He has written many books, appeared on television and is responsible for the youth membership in the RSPB. He also founded the Wildlife Explorer's Awards and the Big Schools' Birdwatch that we take part in at the school.
He presented a signed book and certificate to some children who have done extra fund raising for wildlife. It was such a privilege for us all to meet and talk to such an inspirational man.

Wow ... What an exciting afternoon we have had here in Class 2. We joined the 'cosmic classroom' and connected live to Tim Peake in Space! We listened to Tim Peake answer lots of questions and saw him rolling around in his space craft. We all loved it! I have uploaded some photographs onto the Class 2 section of the website.
