Year 4 trip to Tyseley Recycling Centre
Today Year 4 went to the Recycling Centre at Tyseley in Birmingham.
We had a great time!!!
One of the children said, "I didn't know rubbish could be so interesting!"
I have put a couple of photos on the blog to show you a bit about our morning.
Hard hats on and we are ready to go!!
This centre recycles so many things and uses the energy it creates to provide heat for 40000 homes!
The Tyseley Site deals with the 350 million tonnes of rubbish that the people of Birmingham produce every year!
I bet that's the first time you have seen plasterboard on a blog!!!
It will be recycled to make.......bedding for cows to lie on.
Over the next few weeks the pupils in class 4 will be thinking more about their environment and how we asa a school can recycle more.

Rotary Community Award
A huge well done to the children in Year 6 who are continuing to work towards the Rotary Junior Community Award. A group of seven of our Y6 children attended our PA meeting last night as part of the requirements for attaining the Rotary Award. Rotarian Don Field also attended the meeting to receive monies that four children had collected from Sainsbury's in Mere Green. The scheme is organised by Mrs Curwen and Mrs Ball and I am truly grateful to them for volunteering their time to offer this extremely valuable opportunity to the children.

Great work by Year 3!
I really enjoyed looking at Year 3's wonderful art work in assembly this morning. They all had to create an object that would fend off any 'nasty beasts' as part of their literacy work. Here are some of their excellent results....
