Year 4 Red Nose Day

Year 4 with Red noses!!
Today is Red Nose Day.
We brought in our Red Noses and wore our own clothes!
We have made donations to raise money for people who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Alex will be selling homemade orange juice after school.
Thea's mum is swimming a mile.
Dylan's mum is helping to answer the phones tonight! So when you donate you might be talking to her.
Matthew has made a cherry and raspberry pie.
Let's hope lots of money is raised.

Comic Relief

Don't forget that it is Comic Relief Day on Friday.

We would like the children to their own clothes in return for a donation.

You can wear something red if you like... but please no hair colouring or face paints !

Looking forward to seeing you all... and raising lots of money for Comic Relief.

A visit from Warwickshire Cricket Club

Today the children were visited by Kelly and Hew Bear from Warwickshire cricket club.

We all learned what a fabulous game cricket can be for everyone.

There are lots of cricket clubs in out area....why don't you get involved?

Cross Country practise cancelled!!

Unfortunately, because of the very wintry conditions last night it has made the school field very hard to run on and unsafe. So just for this week we will have to cancel the practise. I will try and arrange another practise asap!

Our visitors from Japan

Today we were very luckyto be visited by a group of students from St Mary's School in Japan.
The students, who are on a week long visit to the UK, sang for our children and showed them all how to make tea.

After their beautiful singing the students spent time with each class teaching the children to write their name using Japanese characters.
We tried our hand at origami too!!!

World Book Day

It was lovely to be at school today with all the teachers and children dressed as their favourite  book character.
We took lots of photos and I thought you'd like to see a few snaps.
Who can you spot?

We will add some more images soon!!!!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make our World Book Day such a success.

Year 4 trip to Tyseley Recycling Centre

Today Year 4 went to the Recycling Centre at Tyseley in Birmingham. We had a great time!!! One of the children said, "I didn't know rubbish could be so interesting!" I have put a couple of photos on the blog to show you a bit about our morning. Hard hats on and we are ready to go!! This centre recycles so many things and uses the energy it creates to provide heat for 40000 homes! The Tyseley Site deals with the 350 million tonnes of rubbish that the people of Birmingham produce every year! I bet that's the first time you have seen plasterboard on a blog!!! It will be recycled to make.......bedding for cows to lie on. Over the next few weeks the pupils in class 4 will be thinking more about their environment and how we asa a school can recycle more.
