Moor Hall in the News - Solar Panels

Solar panels save Moor Hall Primary School £2,000-a-year

The first two phases of the Energy Savers scheme have seen solar panels added to more than 1,300 homes and 20 other buildings across the city.

Birmingham City Council's Vicky Hewitson, Moor Hall Primary headteacher Andrew Steggall and Coun Brigid Jones inspect the new solar panels at the school.

New solar panels are set to save a Birmingham school more than £2,000-a-year – equivalent to the cost of powering more than 200 computers.

Moor Hall Primary School in Sutton Coldfield has fixed 160 solar panels to its roof as part of the Birmingham Energy Savers initiative.

The first two phases of the Energy Savers scheme have seen solar panels added to more than 1,300 homes and 20 other buildings across the city.

Moor Hall headteacher Andrew Steggal said: “It is extremely important that the children learn about being ‘eco friendly’.

‘‘In this way we can not only improve our efficiency as a school but, most importantly, encourage children to be proactive in sustaining the world they are growing up in,” he said.

In the third phase of Birmingham Energy Savers, which is set to be launched before Christmas, the council will work with Carillion Energy Services to deliver energy-saving projects to up to 60,000 homes and 1,000 other buildings by 2020.

Cross Country

Good Morning,

Luckily we have had a clear night and the school field has dried up substantially, so Cross country practise will be going ahead this morning.
Please could I ask all children and parents to walk around the school to the field and not cut across the car park as staff are arriving at that time in the morning, and we don't want any accidents!
See you all at 8.20
