Purple Pinkie Day

Thank you to everyone who contributed so much towards helping Rotary eradicate polio. This morning we were joined in assembly by Mrs Martin, representing the Rotary Club of Sutton Coldfield. The children watched a film commissioned by Rotary, one of our FOLTE partners.

Goodbye Mrs Keeley

We were all very sad to say goodbye to Mrs Keeley today. She has worked at Moor Hall for 5 years as a lunchtime supervisor and will start a new job in a nursery after half term. A lovely photograph has been added to our website under news/ special events.

Purple Pinkie Day 14th Feb 2014

Tomorrow is Purple Pinkie Day and we will be asking children to come to school in non-uniform. If they have something purple or pink to wear then that would be great, but not to worry if they havent!

On Friday 14th February we will be joining other schools in the Four Oaks Learning Trust for Excellence in taking part in the ’Purple Pinkie Day’ for Polio. The Rotary Club, one of our Trust partners, has asked up to promote this important cause. We will be asking children to wear a pink or purple top with their usual school trousers or skirt and to make a voluntary donation of £1 per family. If you haven’t got a purple or pink top (at a push ‘claret’ will be ok!) then nay item of purple or pink will be fine.

PolioPlus is the most ambitious programme in Rotary’s history, aimed at eradicating this dreadful disease which is still endemic in Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan. The purple pinkie is a reference to the dye which is applied to the ‘pinkie’ (little finger) of children in India, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan when they have been given the polio vaccine under the Rotary International 'End Polio Now' Programme.
